Project Portfolio – Examples of our Work
NH Institute of Art Project – Manchester, NH
KNA teamed up with professional architect Dennis Mires on a renovation effort for the New Hampshire Institute of Art. To accommodate recent growth, the institute was in need of an expansion. KNA provided the site planning, design, and permitting for the renovation of a newly acquired building located on Amherst Street in Manchester, New Hampshire.
It was imperative that this project be completed not only efficiently, but also quickly in order to make the building available to students. Work on the project began in March of 2005. By late August the students had the go‐ahead to use the building, with all the major renovations having been completed.
Bedford Hills Project – Bedford, NH
The Bedford Hills development project for Optics1, Inc. has been an ongoing project since the 1980s. In 2011, KNA was brought on for the third phase of this mixed‐use development. Although initial phases featured large commercial developments, Phase III included a residential aspect. It consisted of four 36‐unit apartments, a two‐story office building, and a one‐story childcare center.
The site also features a subsurface stormwater management area. This LID (Low Impact Development) design provides the site with a less disruptive method of treating and directing stormwater, as well as a means to recharge the ground water. With particular emphasis on the site’s drainage system and terrain alterations, KNA provided site survey, planning, design, and permitting services. Additionally, KNA provided construction monitoring services on behalf of the town of Bedford, New Hampshire.
Goffstown Medical Office – Goffstown, NH
Working closely alongside property owner Stephen Langley, KNA provided site planning, design, and permitting for the construction of this Goffstown, New Hampshire medical office building.
The two story building was requested to retain a level of LEED certification. For that goal, KNA considered certain design criteria in order to achieve LEED sustainable site and water efficiency credits.
Manchester Country Club Project – Manchester, NH
KNA, along with professional architect Dennis Mires, worked together on an expansion for the Manchester Country Club. This development included: an expansion to the dining area, an expansion to the function area, a patio equipped with a seasonal tent, relocation of certain sections of the cart path, and finally an additional building to accommodate a cart barn and pro shop.
The cart barn needed a special variance in order to conform to Bedford wetland ordinances. For its part, KNA supplied the site survey, planning, design, and permitting services.
Gold Star Mothers Memorial – Manchester, NH
In 2010, work began at KNA on this memorial dedicated to mothers who have lost a child in service to the country. Working closely with the New Hampshire chapter of the American Gold Star Mothers, the monument was brought to life in Stanton Plaza, located off Elm Street in Manchester, New Hampshire.
The centerpiece of the memorial is a bronze statue designed by Andrew Chernak. KNA provided the surveying and landscape designs to both accompany and accommodate the statue.
